Summer Classes Part 1

No, I did not fail Sophomore Year that I am taking Summer Classes.

Basically, I'm going to review my studies for the past years and advanced readings for the coming years. My mom is preparing me for College Entrance Exams. Definitely I am a dreamer, and I want to get to a topnotch school.

My mom will be tutoring me in subjects like Literature, Communication Arts, History, Sciences, including Computer Science. Dad will be tutoring me in Math and Business.  While my Big Brother will be tutoring me in Math and Economics.

I am not a failure in school nor am I in the star section. If you think about it, I am average but talented, I guess. So my mom's thought that I should be ready for College Exams and Junior Year since it'll be too costly to get a line of 7.

As of Sophomore Year, my SAT Exams resulted as Above Average (AA). But it's still not as high as Freshmen Year. So I am aiming to get a higher grade and be accepted in my awesome dream school. I'll probably tell you that by the time I get into it. If not, I'll make a confession posts.

So What I really wanted to show you was the books my mom bought me. Knowing that I have short attention span, my mom thought of a way to make me more interested in my studies. And she bought these:

My mom told me that I should start with interesting facts. Knowing me, the only way for me to get to study is facts that are extreme or not ordinary. It makes me more interested to learn more about a certain thing.

And in these books, I've read a basic summary of certain subjects. There's even dinosaurs in it!

And my favorite book is this one:

And yes, I love the eye effect.

So basically, these books contains usual questions and is also answered. Like Theory of Evolution, Human Systems and even What are batteries made of? or plastic.

Though I have other books in hand to use as a reviewer like A History of the World by Perry. And my thick biology book that was said to be a College Book.

In anyways, I'd be making updates to where I am in my so-called  Summer Classes. Stay tuned!

Scholarship at CCPDS + Brandenburg

I've probably mention this for the third time, but yes and again I got a full scholarship at CCP Dance School for the Summer Dance Workshop. And because of the workshop I saved an estimated amount of Pesos 15,000.00 And it's all thanks to the teachers and friends who've helped me who I am right now. So in anyways, I just want to give you the news of my scholarship.

I won't make this long so I'll let you listen to the song I danced HipHop with during PASINAYA 2012 last February 26, 2012.

Kane Chronicles: The Throne of Fire

I've never been good with reviews or insights of a certain book. Unlike my mom, who loves to write reviews for a certain thing - gadget, books, event or place and whatsoever.

One Summer Ago, my school gave out a reading list for incoming sophomores. And one of the books was Kane Chronicles: The Red Pyramid. And it's also one of the first book I actually thought to be serious with that much (Aside from Geronimo Stilton in 3rd grade and Nancy Drew in 6th).

Mind you readers, I am not fond of reading every week. But sometimes I take it into account to read in my spare times.

So to not make this long, as seen from the title of this post I have finally read the 2nd book of the Kane Chronicles. The Throne of Fire.

I've had this book since my mom got it for me as a gift for my first SepSEP (September Scholarship Evaluation Program) performance last year in 2011. And yes, I only took the initiative to read it now.

[Yes. I admit I am outdated when it comes to reading material]

But it anyways, I loved the book just as much as the first one. And I am sure there will be a third book. I'm not writing any spoilers here so in anyways, I recommend you guys to read this. I utterly in love with this.

So in summer, I also made a quest like Sadie and Carter. But my quest is to at least read 10 books the whole summer.

I know I'm lame when it comes to reading material. So if I ever pass the boundary of the number 10, I'm telling you it'll be a miracle.

Chocolate Coated Cake

Tomorrow is my little brother (Ken)'s birthday so I decided to make a chocolate cake using the Hershey Recipe. It's like I made it today because I knew I'd be lazy tomorrow. And in anyways, it's a success! Here's the picture of the chocolate coated cake:

It's actually supposed to be 2 of these but I made a mistake along the way.

The recipe can make about two 8x11 inches pan cakes. I was only supposed to make the cake. When the cake got out of the oven, I ate the first cake without the frosting. And then I realized that it tastes so plain without the frosting. So i decided to make the frosting for the second pan. And it turned to success.

I followed the recipe that is in the back of the Hershey Box of Unsweetened Cocoa Powder since I don't have the luxury (well I'm lazy) to find one in the internet.

and it tastes incredible. But I'd love to try it in summer using Belgian Chocolates.

In anyways, if you'd like me to post the recipe just PM me. I might prepare a new post about how to make a Chocolate Coated Cake (with picture).

So Happy Summer! Enjoy the picture and be HUNGRY!

Being an Otaku

Have I ever told you that I'm an Otaku? Otaku means Anime addict/lover. And yes, I am in love with Anime.

One of the first animes I've watch was probably Naruto since my brother loves it. Then I started watching Mirmo de Pon and I never thought that it's actually an anime.

I started really being an anime lover in 6th grade when my best friend M., introduced me to Shugo Chara! I was in love with it especially with Tadase. I was an Tadamu fan (Tadase X Amu). I only loved Shugo Chara until Shugo Chara! Doki. Since I never got the feel from Shugo Chara! Party!

Then I started watching Shoujo animes, like Special A and Ouran High School Host Club. Then I started reading mangas.

I was even able to read mangas in onemanga.com. It's usually onemanga then mangafox. But now, it's all mangafox or mangareader.net.

Then I joined a site called Otakuzone in 2009. I stopped for a few months and came back in 2010. Since then in my user I started forming my own club, making roleplay friends and doing my own rps in the Roleplay forum.

And it's probably also thanks to my OZ friends that I started writing my own stories and its plot. It's so nice to think about a roleplay where you're going to include people and it and make the story alive.

My first roleplay forum thread was called "The Life of the Runaways". It didn't go the way I wanted to but it gave me reasons to write more. I had memories with special people there. And I saved that story. I told them one day I'll finish this rp. I'll make it into a book and I promise your name to be there.

I started roleplaying in clubs. The first one was in my own club called WTA (White Theater Academy). I had fun roleplaying there but I ended up closing the club in 2010 because I was so busy already and it wasn't active anymore. But I promised my co-role players that I'll be opening WTA with a brand new administration.

The second is STA (Special Twins Academy) by a beloved friend I met. Until now, we're role playing and it never stopped. The weird and awesome part is there are only 3 people who are role playing in the club out of hundreds of applicant. Me, and 2 more friends that is. It'd be awesome if you've read it yourself!

Until now, even if it's been 3 years since I became an otaku, I never stopped reading or watching it. In filipino, it's what we called Hindi Nasasawa. Even if there's not much new anime or mangas, or when I finished almost half of the mangas of the genres I like, I never stopped hoping for new things.

The good thing about anime is that there's an inspiration for me that sparks. That gives me ideas in my books. Also I love Japanese Culture. So I got addicted.

But don't worry, I still read books like the Red Pyramid, Thrones of Fire, Percy Jackson Series, Falling Leaves, Desert Flower and such.

For me, being an otaku is not such a bad thing. It could be addicted. But isn't it the same with everything else? If you love something, you get addicted or in-love with it. And I say to you know that I am in love with anime.

That's why this summer, I'll be also giving anime reviews. Since it is part of the randomness in my life.

Yami No Game

Ever heard of the game called "Shadow Game?" I'm sure you've heard of it especially if in your childhood you've watch anime series like these:

Yes, I'm talking about the Yu-Gi-Oh!

When I was a kid, my big brother used to watch this anime series. And I ended up watching it too. Me and my brother even played the cards itself. My brother collected all the cards. But when we grew up, of course my dad just either stored it away or gave it away. So I never saw it since then. If there was a chance of seeing it, I'd post it back here.

And yes, this summer I am re-watching all seasons and movies of both series! And at the end of the summer, don't blame me for getting addicted. In anyways, I'll give you probably a monthly updates on what episode I am. I finished 27 episodes in 2 nights last week before our final exams. Though I'd like to ask you guys if you know where to actually buy the series. It'd be the greatest gift I'd ever receive. Even better than a new violin or expensive clothes.

You can still watch the series online in some selected sites. If not, better start going to stores looking for the DVD/CD!

Note to self and anybody else: If anyone knows a site or place where I can watch Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters in JAPANESE and ENGLISH SUBBED, please inform me! I am in search to watch the rest of the seasons in English Subbed. English Dubbed just really freaks me out sometimes. Thank You!

Second Introduction

Okay, so on the very first post of this blog I said that this is just an experimental blog project. But because of you guys, I now officially open the site with a new name too! A Thespian's Summer derived from my love to arts, theater, dance and music. And there are such people in my heart that called me a thespian. I may not be a known actor, but the love for theater and for its arts is within me. And it's all thanks to people like Ate Boogie and the rest of my co-actors in school.

I have also mentioned my love to dance as I've been part for the first time in the company show of Ballet Philippine's Sleeping Beauty last December 2011. And I'm going to continue pursuing my dance career. And it's all thanks to the CCPDS Scholarship Program. I will honestly say that I improved for the last 10 months of my scholarship. And I'm glad I did.

Also, making a quick current update of my violin classes from my 7 months hiatus, I am proud to say that after 3-5 months I'm going to level up to Level 4 this coming Summer in the Philippines. It took me a while than the usual to make this effort paid.

As an actor, dancer and musician I would love to give my best well share my talents to you. I am not the best writer you read writing in a blog. I read a lot of blogs with better writing. But it doesn't mean jealousy to me, it's inspiration.

I would also like to inform you guys that someday in Summer I might pick up that pen again and start writing the fantasies and actions in my head. I'll try my best to share  you some of these great plots in my head.

So this is my 2nd introduction to this blog. And I am thankful for all those 700++ visitors and readers even if I know that you're not exactly 700. To all the viewers, and readers, thank you very much!

Summer Come Back!

It's been over a month since I last posted! And to all my readers, I'd love to say that I'm going to start blogging again! The theme will be changed due to global warming (It's Summer). So I hope you look forward to the new Experimental Blog Project! I'll also be changing it to another URL and title? Since it's seems to long and it's not an experiment anymore. So I hope you look forward to it!
